The goal of almost every 401(k) plan sponsor is to improve participant deferrals. Whether this results from a need to improve ADP testing, an attempt to reduce relative plan costs and expenses, or a desire to assist employees in better planning for their retirement, plan advisors are asked for their suggestions. Some recommendations may be “tried and true,” such as adding or implementing matches, improving education, or including an automatic enrollment feature. Others may be somewhat unconventional, such as increased matching rates for NHCEs or newly hired employees, providing other (nondiscriminatory) incentives for increased deferrals, or escalating matching rates for higher deferrals. This webinar will survey a spectrum of alternatives.
